CLINICAL CARE OPTIONS AND THE AMERICAN ACADEMY OF HIV MEDICINE ANNOUNCE COLLABORATION TO CREATE LEADING-EDGE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS

-- Agreement Aims to Help HIV Doctors Provide Optimal Patient Care --

RESTON, VA - October 6, 2005 - Clinical Care Options (CCO), a leader in the development of innovative interactive medical education for healthcare professionals, and the American Academy of HIV Medicine (AAHIVM), the premier professional association credentialing physicians as specialists in the care and treatment of HIV, today announced a collaboration in the creation of educational programs that will help clinicians provide optimal care for their HIV+ patients.

"We selected CCO as our long-term partner because of its longstanding commitment to HIV education and unique and innovative technology and approach to medical education," said Howard Grossman, M.D., AAHIVS, executive director of the AAHIVM.  The organization's membership includes more than 2,000 physicians, nurse practitioners and physicians' assistants specializing in HIV care. "With CCO's support we will be able to provide the latest information in HIV care and state-of-the-art treatment options to help our members stay current and maintain their credential as an AAHIVM HIV Specialist™ (AAHIVS)."

"By combining resources and expertise, we will be able to continue to create the highest quality educational programs available today and make them readily accessible to HIV physicians," said Jeffrey L. Drezner, M.D., Ph.D., Clinical Care Options' chief executive officer and founder.  "Our ultimate goal is to provide these physicians with CME that supports excellent care for people with HIV/AIDS."
Through this collaboration, AAHIVM members will have direct access to the newest generation of online, interactive, multimedia, medical education programs utilizing the latest technology for translating scientific data into clinically useful information.  Clinical Care Options will gain the AAHIVM support in the review of jointly sponsored online programs, which will ensure those programs meet AAHIVM standards for medical education.
