Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Summarize the factors used to determine treatment candidacy in HBeAg-positive patients, including HBV DNA
  • Describe the relationships between HBV DNA levels and liver disease outcomes in HBV-infected patients
  • List the definitions of response in hepatitis B and methods for identifying them

Interactive Tool

HBV DNA Monitoring for Oral Agents

This interactive tool tracks a patient’s progress on therapy by calculating and graphically representing changes in HBV DNA over time. The tool also generates key patient evaluation dates and interprets the patient progress over time by highlighting response patterns and tailoring responses according to treatment history. The tool has the capability to save patient data only on the end-user’s computer, making it available for editing upon subsequent uses.
