Reston, VA - October 12, 2007 - Clinical Care Options (CCO), the leader in continuing medical education (CME) programs in hematology/oncology, HIV, and hepatitis, announced the results of leveraging live curricula to the Internet following the completion of a new online Treatment Update, “Navigating Multiple Pathways: Evolving Options and Future Directions in Targeted Therapies.”
The online program was adapted from a CCO-produced, independent CME-certified satellite symposium that was held live in Chicago in June 2007. It contains 3 interactive educational modules and 3 downloadable slidesets. Faculty members for this program included John R. Mackey, MD, FRCP(C); Lee S. Rosen, MD; and Louis M. Weiner, MD. The program was chaired by Manuel Hidalgo, MD, PhD.
“We are thrilled with the response both in the attendance at the live event and now with the tremendous online participation,” said Trish Bates-Doolin, General Manager, CCO Oncology. “In addition to the more than 400 attendees in Chicago, more than 2,500 hematologists, oncologists, and other healthcare professionals have already accessed the Web-based program during the first few months since publication. The animated speakers’ slides have already been downloaded more than 6,500 times for both teaching and personal use, which is consistent with a growing pattern we have seen with other CCO programs.”
This CME-certified program is jointly sponsored by Postgraduate Institute for Medicine and Clinical Care Options, LLC and supported by an educational donation provided by Amgen.
