To accurately screen and diagnose atrial fibrillation (AF), it is critical that healthcare professionals have meaningful discussions with their patients. Here are my thoughts on assessing the risk factors associated with AF, how to utilize shared decision-making in practice, and strategies for addressing barriers to care.
