US primary care physicians, NPs, and PAs

Program Learning Goal

The goal of this program is to improve the knowledge, competence, and performance of learners in prioritizing obesity management, identifying patients who could benefit from pharmacologic treatment, and engaging patients in nonbiased discussions to achieve effective and sustained weight loss.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Apply tactics to patient care that demonstrate the value of prioritizing weight loss to reduce the risk of long-term complications from obesity-related comorbidities

  • Develop pharmacologic treatment plans for patients with obesity based on individual patient needs and preferences

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of strategies for engaging patients in successful long-term weight loss in the management of obesity
