Target Audience

The target audience for the education are endocrinologists and obesity specialists, physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants/physician associates.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Recognize clinical features that warrant further diagnostic workup for rare genetic causes of severe childhood obesity
  • Apply strategies that support patients with genetic obesity and their families
  • Evaluate the current clinical efficacy and safety evidence for MC4R agonist treatment in the management of genetic obesity
  • Identify patients who would benefit from setmelanotide treatment as part of the holistic management of genetic obesity
