HIV Care in the COVID-19 Era: Maintaining Wellness and Trust in the Medical System

In this call between colleagues, hear expert faculty discuss what they learned during the COVID-19 pandemic about the detrimental effects of medical mistrust on patient care/wellness and the paradigm shifts needed to overcome both mistrust and disparities in healthcare outcomes across different groups, including racial/ethnic minorities and other groups who are generally underrepresented in medical research. You will also learn the latest information on the interplay between HIV infection and COVID-19 risk.

Target Audience

This program is intended for physicians, registered nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals who care for persons with HIV in the time of COVID-19.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
  • Provide patient-centered care for persons with HIV that reflects increased challenges brought on by living in the time of COVID-19, including stigma, economic, and mental health challenges
