Target Audience

This educational program is intended for gastroenterologists, gastroenterology nurse practitioners and physician associates/physician assistants, primary care providers, and other healthcare professionals involved in the care of patients with UC.

Program Learning Goal

The goal of this program is to improve learner knowledge, competence, and performance regarding a treat-to-target approach in UC, the latest efficacy and safety data for agents targeting S1P, and treatment positioning for S1P receptor modulators to optimize UC management.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Identify and target objective measures of disease activity to achieve mucosal healing in patients with UC

  • Examine current and emerging S1P receptor modulators, their mechanisms of action, and pharmacodynamic properties

  • Select optimal therapy for patients with UC based on clinical trial data, evidence-based guidelines, and shared decision-making
