Patient Perspective: A Thousand Knives

Clinical Thought

While the fundamentals of pain management should clearly include education on pain mechanisms and appropriate assessment, of equal importance is taking a “whole patient” approach and holding empathy and remaining in the patient’s corner when diagnosis and management get complicated. We interviewed Teresa to hear about her experience finding a supportive provider and resources that have been integral in her pain management journey.
