Target Audience

This activity is intended for physicians, physician associates/physician assistants, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, pharmacists, social workers, and psychologists engaged in the care of patients with psychiatric illness.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Identify the prevalence of TD in patients with anxiety and mood disorders
  • Discuss the evidence base for utilizing patient insight into the diagnosis of TD
  • Describe the effective use of VMAT2 inhibitors without discontinuing other essential psychiatric treatments such as antipsychotics and antidepressants
  • Describe current therapies for TD
