Target Audience

This activity is intended for healthcare professionals who care for patients with hereditary angioedema, including allergists, immunologists, nurse practitioners, and physician associates.

Program Learning Goal

The goal of this activity is to improve the knowledge and competence of learners in effort to optimize treatment for patients with Hereditary Angioneurotic Edema (HAE).

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to: 

  • Develop strategies for HAE diagnosis through recognition of clinical symptoms and differentiation from other disorders with similar presentation

  • Appraise recent data on new and emerging agents for prophylactic treatment of HAE to ensure optimal patient care 

  • Incorporate strategies into practice to improve HAE transitions of care, taking into consideration the unmet needs of pediatric and adult populations and the importance of multidisciplinary management
