Target Audience

This activity is intended for US-based physicians, including residents and fellows; physician associates; and nurse practitioners practicing in allergy/immunology, dermatology, and other nononcology specialties who care for patients with systemic mastocytosis.

Program Learning Goal

The goal of this activity is to improve the knowledge, competence, and performance of learners in diagnosing and managing systemic mastocytosis so that patients will experience improvements in symptoms and quality of life and reduced disease progression.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to: 

  • Incorporate SM into the differential diagnoses of patients presenting with heterogeneous symptoms indicative of the disease

  • Apply recommended criteria to the diagnosis and subtyping of SM

  • Identify patient candidates for new and emerging targeted therapies for SM
