Target Audience

This proposed educational program is intended for primary care physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician associates who care for patients who are HPV vaccine candidates.

Program Learning Goal

The goal of this program is to improve the knowledge and competence of learners in effort to optimize treatment for patients with human papillomavirus vaccines.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

Recognize the burden of HPV-related diseases for patients and the healthcare system and the potential of HPV vaccination to reduce that burden
Integrate appropriate HPV vaccine messaging in clinical encounters with adolescents and young adults to increase vaccine uptake
Overcome barriers to timely HPV vaccination in key patient cohorts including males, older adolescents, and underserved populations
