Target Audience

This program is intended for physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals who provide care services for people living with HIV.

Program Learning Goal

To improve learners’ competence in providing culturally competent HIV care services that facilitate engagement with and retention in care.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

Recognize the challenges in initiating HIV care related to such issues as stigma, beliefs, communication, and financial burden, and develop strategies to optimize clinical practice to combat these barriers
Provide the necessary proactive support systems to keep people living with HIV engaged in care
Devise strategies to welcome people with HIV back into care through outreach and practice updates
