Clinical Thought

The treatment of pain has become more complex as a result of the opioid crisis. Prescribers and pharmacists must balance clinical considerations with legal obligations when choosing pharmacotherapeutic options for pain. A team-based patient care model, including the prescriber, pharmacist, and patient, is essential to ensure the best patient care and health outcomes.
