Target Audience

This program is intended for nephrology physicians, nurse practitioners, physician associates, and other healthcare professionals who care for patients with ASCVD, systemic inflammation, and CKD.

Program Learning Goal

The goal of this program is to improve the knowledge and competence of learners in effort to optimize treatment for patients with Cardiovascular Disease (CVD).

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

Recognize the responsibility of nephrology specialists in minimizing the risk of ASCVD in individuals with CKD by leveraging hsCRP as a standard biomarker of inflammatory burden
Summarize the mechanistic role of systemic inflammation in ASCVD risk in patients with CKD
Integrate evidence for new and emerging agents for ASCVD management targeting residual inflammatory risk into individualized treatment plans for patients with CKD
