Target Audience

This program is intended for physicians and other healthcare professionals who care for patients with breast cancer.

Program Learning Goal

The goal of this program is to improve the knowledge and competence of learners in effort to optimize treatment for patients with Breast Cancer.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Describe the rationale for the AKT pathway as a therapeutic target in HER2-negative breast cancer, considering the mechanism of action of AKT inhibitors

  • Evaluate the practical clinical application of the efficacy and safety data from pivotal trials of AKT inhibitors in HER2-negative breast cancer

  • Identify patients with HER2-negative breast cancer who may benefit from treatment with AKT inhibitors

  • Encourage enrollment on ongoing clinical trials evaluating AKT inhibitors for all eligible patients with HER2-negative breast cancer, considering potential racial, age, and socioeconomic barriers
