Target Audience

This program is intended for HCPs caring for patients with major depressive disorder, including physicians (psychiatrists and family medicine/primary care), nurse practitioners, physician associates, registered nurses, pharmacists, social workers, and psychologists.

Program Learning Goal

The goal of this program is to improve the knowledge, competence, and performance of learners to optimize treatment for patients with MDD.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Select evidence-based agents used for augmentation in MDD 

  • Assess the emerging evidence for the use of antipsychotics and other augmentation strategies in the treatment of MDD

  • Differentiate treatment options for MDD based on medication or intervention characteristics such as mechanisms of action or adverse event profiles
