Target Audience

This program is intended for healthcare professionals caring for patients with bipolar depression, including physicians (psychiatrists and primary care), nurse practitioners, physician associates, registered nurses, pharmacists, social workers, and psychologists.

Program Learning Goal

The goal of this program is to improve the knowledge, competence, and performance of learners in effort to optimize diagnosis and treatment for patients with bipolar depression.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Describe the differential diagnosis of bipolar depression based on expert best practices

  • Assess the real-world evidence for use of antidepressants in bipolar depression 

  • Individualize treatment selections for patients with bipolar depression based on characteristics
