This educational program is intended for psychiatrists, neurologists, gerontologists, nurse practitioners, physician associates, general and family practice physicians, pharmacists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals who treat patients with TD who may benefit from this education.
The goal of this program is to improve the knowledge, competence, and performance of learners in effort to optimize treatment for patients with tardive dyskinesia (TD).
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
Identify factors that put older individuals at risk for TD
Interpret screening tools for the identification of TD, including patient and caregiver reports
Relate PK/PD properties of VMAT2 inhibitors with dosing and titration schedules
Assess the safety and efficacy of VMAT2 inhibitors in the management of TD in older adults and special populations
Construct an individualized treatment plan for patients with TD with age-related or other special characteristics
