Add to CartTo renew a license, physicians must satisfy 30 hours/year of continuing education requirements in 3 areas: general education, pain management, and cultural competency.
The Oregon Medical Board requires cultural competency/inclusion continuing education as a condition of licensure. Licensees must complete at least 1 hour for each year of licensure during an audit period, which occurs every 2 years.
The Oregon Medical Board strongly encourages physicians and physician associates who practice in primary care or geriatrics to obtain continuing medical education related to Alzheimer’s disease. Continuing education courses must be relevant to a licensee’s current practice to satisfy the Board’s maintenance of licensure requirements. Beginning January 1, 2018, continuing education in Alzheimer’s disease will be considered relevant for all physician and physician associate licensees, regardless of specialty.
This information is in accordance with the Oregon Medical Board. Please note that CME requirements are subject to change. We continue to make updates as we become aware of them. However, healthcare professionals should confirm the most current requirements with their state Board of Medicine for accuracy.
