Goal Statement
This activity aims to improve learners’ knowledge and competence in optimal management of patients with CLL/SLL.

Target Audience
This activity has been designed for oncologists, nurse practitioners, physician associates, oncology nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals in VA medical centers caring for patients with CLL/SLL.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Evaluate intraclass differences of therapies for CLL/SLL according to selectivity, binding, efficacy, and adverse event profiles

  • Individualize the choice of first-line therapy for CLL/SLL based on prognostic variables, comorbidities, duration, toxicity profiles, and patient preferences

  • Apply efficacy and safety evidence and guideline recommendations to select and sequence therapies for R/R CLL/SLL

  • Plan evidence-based strategies for optimizing the use in clinical practice of novel and emerging therapies, including novel combinations, noncovalent BTK inhibitors, and CAR T-cell therapy
