CME/CE Info

Goal
The goal of this program is to improve the knowledge, competence, and performance of learners in effort to optimize treatment for patients with Myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN)

Target Audience
This program is intended for community-based medical hematologists/oncologists, advanced practice providers, nurses, pharmacists and other healthcare professionals involved in the treatment of patients with polycythemia vera.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Identify factors used to stratify risk and initiate cytoreductive therapy in PV, including potentially disease-modifying therapies in low-risk PV
  • Recognize symptoms and patterns of first-line treatment failure in patients with MPNs, including treatment intolerance and treatment resistance
  • Institute best practices for transitioning to a clinically appropriate second-line therapy after first-line treatment failure for patients with PV
  • Integrate supportive care plans into practice that are designed to monitor symptoms and manage treatment-related toxicities from current and emerging PV treatments
  • Review data on emerging novel targets and mechanisms that have the potential to change clinical practice in PV and ET
