Goal Statement
The goal of this program is to improve the knowledge and competence of learners in identifying and overcoming barriers that may prevent successful HPV vaccination in adolescents and young adults.

Target Audience
This program is intended for physicians, nurse practitioners, physician associates/physician assistants, pharmacists, registered nurses, and other healthcare professionals who care for adolescents and young adults in need of HPV vaccination.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Identify opportunities to offer HPV vaccination throughout adolescence and young adulthood, including catch-up vaccination when necessary
  • Utilize optimal vaccine messaging to overcome barriers, such as vaccine misinformation and safety concerns, to successfully provide HPV vaccination to all adolescent patients
  • Formulate strategies to bolster HPV vaccination rates in specific patient populations, such as males, those living in rural areas, and older adolescents/young adults
