Goal Statement
The goal of this activity is to increase awareness of hepatitis delta virus among specialist and nonspecialist multiprofessional audiences and to provide key action steps to improve screening, diagnosis, linkage to care, and management of HDV. 

Target Audience
This program is intended for physicians, pharmacists, registered nurses, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals who provide care for patients with HDV infection or patients at risk for HBV/HDV infection. 

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Implement practices that ensure patients with HBV are promptly screened for HDV and effectively diagnosed
  • Employ optimal strategies for linking patients with HDV to care, including effective patient counseling and enrollment on clinical trials when appropriate
  • Recount key safety and efficacy data from clinical trials of new and investigational therapies for chronic HDV infection
  • Apply best practices in the practical implementation of treatment for HDV
