Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, learners should be able to:

  • Identify fundamental concepts of pain management, including mechanisms of pain; risk factors for misuse, abuse, and opioid use disorder; and appropriate assessment of pain 
  • Create an individualized, patient-specific pain treatment plan that safely and effectively integrates the range of therapeutic options, including initiating therapy, titrating, and discontinuing nonopioid medications and opioid analgesics  
  • Design an individualized patient and caregiver education plan on the safe use, storage, and disposal of opioid analgesics and the role of reversal agents
  • Construct a systematic approach to screening for and appropriately managing patients with opioid use disorder

Social Work Continuing Education

As a Jointly Accredited Organization, Clinical Care Options, LLC is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program.
