Goal Statement
The goal of this activity is to improve the knowledge, confidence, and competence of oncology nurses, nurse practitioners, and clinical nurse specialists to understand and explain available clinical data on novel and emerging therapies, how these data and treatments will affect clinical outcomes, and how to promote health equity among patients with AML.

Target Audience
This educational program is intended for oncology nurses, nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, and other healthcare professionals who care for patients with AML. 

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Discuss genetic and molecular testing strategies with patients, highlighting the clinical rationale and how molecular assessment can impact AML care plans
  • Evaluate individualized AML therapeutic strategies considering the molecular profile along with available clinical evidence on efficacy and potential toxicities
  • Implement evidence-based interventions for patients with AML to manage treatment-related adverse events
  • Communicate to patients the importance of adherence to therapy to optimize outcomes in an acute leukemia disease setting
