It seeks to inspire hope by showing the potential for improvement in patient care, improving patient engagement, aligning treatment decisions with patient values and goals, and significantly increasing overall satisfaction with care.

Target Audience
This activity is intended for multidisciplinary teams caring for breast cancer patients, including medical oncologists, advanced practice providers, nurses, physician associates, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals as well as patients.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Analyze current unmet needs and disparities in care that preclude optimal treatment for older patients with HR+/HER2- mBC

  • Implement tools/questionnaires aligned with best practices to optimize the incorporation of assessment into clinical practice

  • Synthesize the latest clinical data and guideline recommendations for selecting HR+, HER2- mBC therapy in older patients, understanding non-guideline concordant behaviors and bias regarding perceived frailty that may lead to suboptimal treatment in the community setting

  • Select optimal treatment for older patients with HR+/HER2- mBC considering clinical and social patient-specific factors.
