Goal Statement
The goal of this program is to improve learners’ knowledge of and competence in the burden of shingles, vaccine recommendations for older and immunocompromised adults, and strategies to overcome vaccination barriers.

Target Audience
This program is intended for physicians and other healthcare professionals who care for older and/or immunocompromised adults in need of shingles vaccination.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Counsel patients on the risk factors for shingles, disease complications, and the need for vaccination
  • Apply current guidelines for shingles vaccination, including consideration of previous vaccination history and patient comorbidities
  • Implement practical strategies to overcome barriers to shingles vaccination
