Breaking New Ground in CRSwNP: Expert Perspectives on Targeting Epithelial Cytokines

Chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) is often refractory to medical and surgical treatment, particularly in patients with severe inflammation. Biologic therapies have revolutionized management strategies for many patients. More recently, a newer class of biologics has taken aim at the upstream epithelial cytokines known as “alarmins.” Join us for a discussion about the growing body of scientific evidence for the potential of targeting epithelial cells to reduce CRSwNP symptoms and exacerbations.

CME/CE Info

Goal Statement
The goal of this activity is to improve learner knowledge and competence in understanding the functions of epithelial cytokines in inflammatory pathways for CRSwNP and the potential roles of emerging biologics targeting these mediators.

Target Audience
This activity is intended for allergists/immunologists, otolaryngologists, rhinologists, and nurses who manage patients with CRSwNP.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Describe the function of epithelial cytokines in type 2 inflammatory pathways for CRSwNP

  • Update management approaches to include the latest clinical data and developments around biologic therapies targeting airway epithelial cytokines in CRSwNP

  • Identify patients with CRSwNP who may benefit from emerging biologic therapies targeting upstream epithelial cytokines
