Every patient requires an individualized care plan to treat their migraines. This may include the adjustment of current medications, and/or trials of new therapies before finding the right combination. For many patients, a single preventive treatment option is not enough, and a combination of treatments is required. As healthcare professionals, it is important to keep in mind the possibility of medication overuse headache and educate patients on the proper use of acute treatments.
