Follow-up – Case Continued
At her next 3-month follow-up, the patient reports she has lost an additional 10 lb (current weight 170 lb, 13% total body weight lost), and her BMI has decreased to 29.2 kg/m2. Her fasting blood glucose remains well controlled without symptoms of hypoglycemia, and her A1C has decreased to 6.5%. The patient is enthusiastic about her weight loss and states that she feels much healthier and has more energy. She is motivated to continue her exercise and dietary changes, with the goal to reach a healthier weight for her height.
